Ichiro’s Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve (MWR) Japanese Whisky

Ichiro’s Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve is a blended malt whisky created by Ichiro Akuto and Venture Whisky at Chichibu Distillery. Selected malt whiskies are blended and then further matured in Japanese Mizunara oak, giving the whisky its distinctive combination of fruit, aromatic wood, spice and gentle peat character.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with grilled pork, roasted duck, aged cheese, toasted nuts, dried fruit and dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes: Complex and aromatic with ripe fruit, coconut, honey, chocolate, herbs, Japanese oak and gentle peat.

Nose: Coconut, ripe fruit and floral aromas with honey, cacao, apricot, marmalade and ginger.

Palate: Smooth malt sweetness with pear, honey, bitter chocolate, herbs and warming spice followed by subtle peat.

Finish: Lingering and complex with sweet oak, sandalwood-like Mizunara character, spice and gentle smoke.

Serve: Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water.
