Spirit of Hven Tycho's Star Single Malt Swedish Whisky 500ml

Produced by Spirit of Hven at its family-owned distillery on the island of Hven, Sweden, Tycho’s Star is a medium-peated Swedish single malt named in tribute to astronomer Tycho Brahe and the supernova he observed in 1572. The whisky is made from three malt types—unpeated Pale Ale malt, chocolate malt and heavily peated whisky malt—and matured in air-dried American and French oak. Bottled at 41.8% ABV, it combines ripe fruit and malt sweetness with liquorice, leather, vanilla, nuts and balanced smoke.

Food Pairing: Smoked pork, grilled beef, aged cheese, dark chocolate, almond desserts, or roasted nuts with honey and warming spices.

Tasting Notes: Fruity and moderately smoky, balancing ripe plum and fresh apple with malt, liquorice, leather, vanilla, nuts and gently charred oak.

Nose: Ripe plum and fresh fruit lead into apple and elderflower, with underlying leather, liquorice and balanced smoke complemented by coconut and almond.

Palate: Fresh and distinctly malty, with clear smoke accompanied by vanilla-like oak sweetness, liquorice, toasted nuts and the firmer structure of French oak.

Finish: Soft and lingering, with fresh hay, meadow-like herbal notes, malt sweetness and gentle smoke gradually fading into seasoned oak.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped glass; a few drops of water can help reveal additional fruit, malt, almond and smoky character.
