Highland Park 18 Year Old 'Viking Pride'

Highland Park 18 Year Old 'Viking Pride' is a benchmark Island single malt from Scotland's northernmost distillery in the Orkney Islands. Matured in a high proportion of first-fill European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks, this expression perfectly balances rich, dark sherry fruit and spice with Highland Park's distinct, aromatic Orkney heather peat smoke. Widely decorated and revered globally, it offers a highly harmonious, complex, and full-bodied sipping experience.

Food Pairing: Rich dark chocolate desserts (such as a Black Forest gateau), roasted duck with plum reduction, spiced fruit chutneys with cold meats, smoked salmon, and blue cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort.

Tasting Notes : Naturally glowing amber in appearance with a smooth, full, and warming, mouth-coating feel.

Nose : Rich, caramelized sweetness, toffee, and ripe cherries, beautifully supported by dried fruit, dark chocolate, marzipan, and delicate aromatic heather peat smoke.

Palate : Complex and finely balanced, delivering a wave of candied orange zest, dark chocolate, and honeyed fruits alongside cinnamon spice, espresso, and subtle, smoldering heather smoke.

Finish : Long, sweet, and complex, leaving a lingering interplay of gentle peat smoke, winter baking spices, toasted oak, and a slight nuttiness.

Serve : Serve neat in a Glencairn glass to appreciate its full complexity, or gently opened with a few drops of room-temperature water.
