About the Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'LaPerriere' 2019 750ml
93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2019 la Perrières from Monsieur Harmand is a lovely bottle in the making. The nose wafts from the glass in a complex blend of dark berries, cassis, smoked meats, a lovely foundation of black minerality, coffee bean, woodsmoke and new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, precise and full-bodied, with a beautifully plush attack, a fine core, lovely soil signature and a long, ripely tannic and very well-balanced finish. A fine, fine bottle in the making. 2033-2085. (Jan/Feb 2022)"
91 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(30+ year old vines). Discreet wood influence sets off the spicier and riper aromas of earth-inflected black cherry fruit. The relatively rich and discreetly stony medium-bodied flavors possess good flesh, yet the mouthfeel is sleek and detailed on the persistent and complex finale that is a bit firmer if not as precise. Drink: 2031+. (Jan 2022)"
