About the E. Guigal Ex Voto Ermitage Blanc 2020
The 2020 E. Guigal "Ex Voto" Ermitage Blanc is a monumental and powerful white wine, produced only in exceptional years from vines aged between 40 and 90 years. Sourced predominantly from the prestigious Les Murets (90%) and L'Hermite (10%) vineyards, this vintage is noted for its extraordinary aromatic intensity and density. It presents a brilliant golden-yellow hue and an explosive nose of white peach, honey, and acacia flowers, interwoven with complex notes of toasted brioche, vanilla, and flinty minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and unctuous, showcasing a massive concentration of fruit balanced by a refreshing saline edge. Aged for 30 months in 100% new French oak, it remains the ultimate expression of age-worthy Marsanne, intended for significant cellaring.
Matured for 24 months exclusively in new barrels, the 2020 Ermitage Ex Voto Blanc is sourced from vines planted in the Les Murets and L’Ermite lieux-dits. It wafts from the glass with aromas of white flowers, almonds, ripe orchard fruits, quince and oak. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it offers a layered, seamless core of fruit and concludes with a long, saline finish.
