Guelbenzu Vierlas

Guelbenzu Vierlas is a vibrant, intensely aromatic, and wonderfully expressive Spanish red blend produced by the historic Bodegas Guelbenzu. Hailing from the distinctive Ribera del Queiles appellation, nestled between Navarra and Aragón, this single-vineyard wine is sourced from the stony, well-drained soils of the Finca La Lombana estate. Crafted primarily from a blend of Merlot and Syrah, the wine is carefully aged for six months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. In the glass, it displays a deep, high-layer black-cherry color. The bouquet is complex and inviting, opening with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruit and subtle floral notes, beautifully interwoven with intriguing hints of black olive tapenade, cedar, and creamy vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, fresh, and full-bodied, delivering a powerful core of blackberries, dark plums, and warm spice. This generous fruit expression is supported by smooth, well-integrated tannins, culminating in a balanced, lingering finish laced with toasty oak and roasted nuances.
