About the Guelbenzu Lombana 2009
Guelbenzu Lombana 2009 is an intense, beautifully evolved, and complex Spanish red blend crafted by the historic Bodegas Guelbenzu. Hailing from the distinctive Ribera del Queiles appellation situated between Navarra and Aragón, this robust wine represents a harmonious blend of Graciano, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Matured for 10 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels and aged extensively in the bottle, it displays a deep garnet color with mature tones. The aromatic bouquet is elegant and fine, offering concentrated notes of ripe black fruits and dried plums, seamlessly interwoven with compelling tertiary characteristics of sweet tobacco, black olives, and toasted cedar. On the palate, it is powerful yet remarkably velvety, delivering a complex, fleshy core of dark fruit and savory spice supported by a silky texture. The well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity culminate in a persistent, long, and satisfying finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with hearty beef stews, slow-roasted lamb, rich game meats, savory charcuterie, and mature, aged Spanish cheeses.
