Chambolle-Musigny, crafted from Pinot Noir, displays a deep purple hue with a dense core. The aroma is dominated by dark red cherry, which carries through to the palate with intensity and freshness. Balanced by lively acidity, the wine reveals dense layers of texture and flavor, resulting in an impressive and refined expression.

Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Groffier's 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Sentiers has an intense bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, quite spicy and slightly oriental in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, again, spicy and lively with a sappy, saline finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a superb, if not particularly subtle, Chambolle-Musigny destined to give many years of drinking pleasure. Tasted September 2017.
