W. & J. Graham's The Tawny Mature Reserve 7 Year Old Port is a wonderfully expressive, complex, and masterfully blended wood-aged fortified wine that showcases Graham's exceptional house style in a more youthful, fruit-driven light. Representing the Master Blender's personal interpretation of a fine old Tawny, this signature reserve is composed of select lots that have been aged for an average of seven to nine years in seasoned oak barrels within the cool lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia. Over nearly a decade of cask maturation, the wine retains a vibrant core of ripe grape flavor and soft tannins while gaining tremendous textural softness and oxidative complexity. In the glass, it displays a deep, brilliant golden-amber color with copper reflections. The nose is highly aromatic and lifted, unrolling a complex bouquet of dried figs, plums, and raisins, seamlessly layered with notes of orange peel, toasted almonds, sweet caramel, and warm cinnamon spice. On the palate, this full-bodied Port is generous, smooth, and beautifully balanced, driving a rich core of toffee, dried fruits, and nutty complexity over a velvety texture. A lively line of integrated natural acidity flawlessly structures its rich sweetness, preventing any cloying weight and leading into an impressively long, clean, and warming finish.
