W. & J. Graham's Late Bottled Vintage Port

W. & J. Graham's Late Bottled Vintage Port is a magnificent, deeply expressive, and richly concentrated fortified wine that serves as an excellent illustration of Graham's opulent house style. Unlike classic Vintage Port which matures mostly in the bottle, a Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is aged in seasoned oak casks for four to six years before bottling. This extended wood maturation allows the wine to develop a highly polished, approachable structure that is fully mature and ready to be enjoyed immediately upon release without the need for decanting. In the glass, it presents an opaque, intense deep red-purple color. The nose is remarkably fragrant and lifted, unrolling a complex bouquet of ripe black plums, dark cherries, and wild blackberries, seamlessly layered with delicate floral notes of rose and rockrose, wild mint, and hints of sweet cocoa and warm baking spices. On the palate, this full-bodied Port is rich, sweet, and wonderfully luscious, driving a succulent core of dense dark fruits and chocolate over a framework of velvety, peppery tannins and a vital line of fresh acidity that carries through into a long, elegant, and beautifully balanced finish.
