Scents of cherries, cassis, cedar and vanilla emerge on the nose of the 2017 Ultimatum Cabernet Sauvignon Double Rock. While perhaps not as obvious or flashy as the PLUS bottling, this is more dense and suave, tighter knit and more harmonious. The layers of cherry and cassis unfurl steadily on the long, lingering finish, framed by taut acids and silky tannins.
