About the Goldschmidt Vineyard Forefathers Lone Tree Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
The Goldschmidt Vineyards Forefathers Lone Tree Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is an ultra-premium, single-vineyard wine that represents Nick Goldschmidt’s "Forefathers" project—a series dedicated to finding the world’s best sites for specific varietals. The Lone Tree Vineyard is a unique high-elevation site in the Alexander Valley, characterized by its volcanic soils and cooler microclimate, which allows for a longer hang-time and superior flavour development. The 2019 vintage is celebrated for its remarkable balance, offering both the power of a warm season and the structural elegance of its hillside origin.
On the nose, it delivers an opulent bouquet of black plum, cassis, and violet, accented by sophisticated notes of graphite, anise, and toasted cedar. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, showcasing a dense core of black forest fruits and dark chocolate supported by firm, architecturally sound tannins. The finish is exceptionally long and refined, leaving a lingering impression of savory herbs, mineral tension, and sweet baking spices.
