Signatory Vintage Symington's Choice Glen Elgin 1991 33 Year Old Cask #4073

Signatory Vintage "Symington's Choice" Glen Elgin 1991 33 Year Old (Cask No. 4073) is an ultra-rare, long-aged single-cask release hand-selected by Andrew Symington, founder of Signatory Vintage. Distilled in 1991 at the Glen Elgin Distillery in Speyside and matured for 33 full years in a single 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, this landmark bottling was released in 2024 with a total outturn of just 529 bottles. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.2% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring, it offers a deeply concentrated, dark mahogany profile where Glen Elgin's waxy distillate meets intense, antique sherry depth.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with dark chocolate ganache, aged Gouda, sticky toffee pudding, roasted game with berry reduction, or enjoyed as a standalone meditative digestif.

Tasting Notes: An extraordinary, deeply complex 33-year-old single malt featuring notes of dark chocolate, prunes, antique leather, tobacco, dark cherries, and polished oak woodiness.

Nose: Deep and intoxicating with aromas of rich dark chocolate, stewed prunes, pipe tobacco, antique leather, citrus peel, and paraffin wax.

Palate: Full-bodied, velvety, and complex with layers of caramelized brown sugar, dark cherries, ripe plums, espresso bean, and warming oak spices.

Finish: Exceptionally long, rich, and lingering with persistent dark fruit syrup, pine sap, cocoa powder, and dry wood spice.

Serve: Best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn glass or copita after letting it breathe for several minutes to reveal its complex 33-year maturation layers.
