Glasgow 1770 Peated Cask Strength Batch 01

Glasgow 1770 Peated Cask Strength Batch 01 is an intense, full-throttle expression from The Glasgow Distillery Company located in Hillington, Glasgow. Crafted from 100% malted barley peated to 50 PPM with rich Highland peat, this release showcases the raw power and complexity of the distillery’s peated spirit. Matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak casks before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 60.8% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring, it offers a robust, smoky profile layered with charred oak, sweet vanilla, dark berries, and warming spices.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with charred ribeye steak, smoked brisket, sharp blue cheese, oysters with barbecue glaze, and dark chocolate desserts.

Tasting Notes: A powerful and complex Lowland single malt delivering intense smoldering peat smoke, rich vanilla, dark dried fruit, and bold toasted oak spice.

Nose: Bold campfire smoke, sweet heather peat, dark berry jam, vanilla bean, roasted coffee, and charred oak.

Palate: Full-bodied, rich, and oily with flavours of smoldering ash, dark chocolate, salted caramel, sweet tobacco, and warming wood spice.

Finish: Long, warm, and lingering with persistent peat smoke, subtle citrus peel, and dry oak spice.

Serve: Best enjoyed in a Glencairn glass with a few drops of spring water to tame the high proof and release its rich smoky and oak layers.
