Glasgow 1770 Peated

Glasgow 1770 Peated is a bold, heavily peated expression produced by The Glasgow Distillery Company at their distillery in Hillington, Glasgow. Distilled in copper pot stills from 100% malted barley peated to 50 PPM with Highland peat, this release showcases a distinctive interplay between rich smoke and fruity malt. Matured initially in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak casks, it is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring. The result is a complex Lowland single malt balancing smoldering campfire smoke, rich dark fruit, sweet vanilla, and warm oak spice.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with smoked meats, charred ribeye steak, sharp blue cheese, oysters, dark chocolate desserts, or sticky barbecue ribs.

Tasting Notes: A rich, smoky, and well-rounded Lowland single malt featuring notes of smoldering peat, sweet vanilla, dark fruit jam, and toasted oak spice.

Nose: Fragrant campfire smoke, sweet heather peat, dried orange peel, vanilla pod, and roasted coffee bean.

Palate: Full-bodied on the palate with layers of rich dark berries, sweet tobacco, salted caramel, toasted wood, and earthy peat smoke.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of smoldering ash, subtle citrus zest, and dry wood spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of spring water to open up its rich smoky, fruity, and oak layers.
