Glasgow 1770 The Original

Glasgow 1770 The Original is the flagship release from The Glasgow Distillery Company, marking the return of single malt whisky distillation to Glasgow. Distilled in copper pot stills from 100% unpeated Scottish malted barley, this expression is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak casks. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring, it offers a vibrant, well-balanced profile showcasing sweet vanilla, ripe orchard fruits, honeyed malt, and delicate wood spices.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with roast chicken, pan-seared pork chops with apple glaze, light charcuterie, mild cheddar cheese, and almond or fruit tarts.

Tasting Notes: A bright and approachable Lowland single malt presenting notes of crisp green apple, floral honey, vanilla cream, and gentle toasted oak spice.

Nose: Inviting aromas of green apple, yellow pear, dried fruit, floral honey, sweet vanilla, and shortbread.

Palate: Smooth and rounded on the palate with layers of poached pear, orange zest, buttered brioche, honeyed cereal malt, and warm oak spice.

Finish: Clean and medium in length with lingering notes of sweet malted barley, subtle citrus peel, and gentle dry wood spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of spring water to open up its delicate fruit and oak layers.
