About the Giant Steps Yarra Valley Vineyard Chardonnay 2023 750ml
Made without compromise using 100% handpicked fruit from our estate vineyards. The Yarra Valley Chardonnay is produced with whole bunch pressings, fermentation on full juice solids, wild yeast and fermented entirely in French puncheons. This approach produces highly expressive wines, true to the regional characteristics of the Yarra Valley.
Aromas of citrus, fresh melon and crushed hazelnuts with mineral undertones. The palate is long, elegant and broad with a beautiful creaminess from the extended aging on its lees. A backbone of crisp and punchy acidity carries flavors of stone fruits, citrus and shortbread through a persistent finish.
Food Pairing - Fish tacos with coriander, chilli and avocado salsa. Grilled eggplant with tomato relish. Salad with grilled goats cheese on croutons. Roast crispy skin chicken, preserved lemon and roast garlic.

An even split of upper and lower Yarra fruit. Whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in 15% new French puncheons. Around 25% mlf. A very bright green gold. Attractive scents of ripe white pears and nectarines, lemon curd and just the right amount of flint. Packs a punch on the saline, gently textured, gently chewy palate. Great stuff and the perfect entrée to the year's superb lineup of single-vineyard chardonnays.
