About the Giant Steps Applejack Vineyard Chardonnay 2020 750ml
The Applejack vineyard has long supplied the fruit for the most sought-after of the Giants Steps Pinot Noirs, now the same may be true for Flamsteed's Chardonnays.
The first release of the wine came from a hunch that there might be something special about the fruit from this block in 2017, it would seem that Flamsteed's hunch was right.
The 2020 looks every bit as good - a perfect balance struck between fruit weight and flavour with bell- clear acidity. Stocks are limited and this won't be around for long. Dive in while you can.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Applejack is a tightly structured Chard with vibrant yet delicate aromas of citrus and florals underpinned by seashells, toast and a bit of toffee once it warms. The palate is like a jolt of electricity: a tart, lemony acidity bringing energy and freshness to a chalky texture. Could be a knockout with sole or a similar white fish. Drink now–2030.
