About the Gerard Bertrand Villa Soleilla
Gérard Bertrand Villa Soleilla is a prestigious, organically and biodynamically grown orange wine crafted in the La Clape area of the southern Languedoc region. Made in tribute to the 8,000-year-old Georgian tradition of skin-contact winemaking, this rare blend of Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier undergoes extended maceration in whole bunches before being aged for eight months in a combination of oak barrels, clay amphorae, and glass globes. It pours a striking deep old-gold color, releasing a powerful and complex aromatic bouquet of candied orange zest, dried apricot, honey, fresh thyme, and sweet spices. The full-bodied and textured palate delivers an opulent yet balanced mouthfeel, showcasing soft, well-integrated tannins, wild herbal complexities, and a sophisticated touch of salinity on the long, dry finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with a fragrant lamb tagine, roasted root vegetables with sweet spices, rich white meats, grilled fish, and aged hard cheeses.
