About the Gerard Bertrand An 1877 Saint Chinian
Gérard Bertrand "An 1877" Saint-Chinian is a refined and deeply expressive red wine crafted from selected hillside vineyards in the southern Languedoc. Combining traditional vinification techniques with partial oak aging, it exhibits a striking deep ruby-red color in the glass. The nose delivers an intense and complex aromatic bouquet rich with ripe black cherries, plums, and wild blackberries, elegantly interwoven with distinctive notes of cocoa, tapenade, black pepper, and garrigue herbs. On the palate, this full-bodied blend is remarkably smooth, rich, and balanced, revealing polished, velvety tannins and subtle earthy undertones before culminating in a long, harmonious, and spice-tinged finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, lamb chops, rich wild game stews, roasted duck, charcuterie boards, and matured cheeses like Mimolette or aged Gouda.
