George T Stagg 2023 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 135 Proof

The 2023 George T. Stagg is an uncut and unfiltered barrel-proof bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery and part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Distilled in spring 2008 and released in fall 2023, it was aged for approximately 15 years and bottled at a powerful 135 proof (67.5% ABV).

Food Pairing:Pairs well with smoked brisket, grilled steak, barbecue, aged cheeses, roasted pecans and rich dark-chocolate desserts.

Tasting Notes:A powerful, mature barrel-proof bourbon with concentrated sweetness, dark fruit, chocolate, leather and substantial oak influence.

Nose:Cinnamon and cherry cola.

Palate:Well-balanced layers of leather, chocolate and vanilla frosting.

Finish:Robust, earthy and long-lasting.

Serve:Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to gradually open the aromas and soften the barrel-proof intensity.
