About the Domaine de La Tourmaline Muscadete Sevre et Maine Sur Lie
Domaine de La Tourmaline Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie is an exceptionally crisp, bright, and coastal-influenced French white wine crafted by the Gadais family in the heart of the Pays Nantais. Made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grown on 30-year-old vines rooted in rare amphibolite and micaschist soils, this wine undergoes traditional aging on its fine lees (sur lie) for several months to develop texture and complexity. In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with subtle green reflections and a gentle, natural effervescence. The nose is highly expressive and maritime, showing fragrant aromas of sliced green apples, fresh pear, and citrus peels layered with distinct mineral notes of wet stone, sea spray, and oyster shells. On the palate, this light-to-medium-bodied white is remarkably vibrant and clean, offering a juicy core of green fruit flavors balanced by a razor-sharp line of natural acidity and a savory, salty mineral finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with fresh oysters, raw shellfish, steamed mussels, light seafood pasta, or goat cheese salads.
