Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Ledaig Islands 2006 12 Year Old

Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Ledaig 12 Year Old Islands Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional peated independent release from Gordon & MacPhail's color-coded "Discovery" range, which highlights distinct whisky flavor profiles: 'Sherry', 'Smoky', and 'Bourbon'. Distilled at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull under its heavily peated "Ledaig" mark, this 12-year-old expression represents the 'Smoky' category (purple band). Bottled at 43% ABV, it presents a rich balance of robust campfire peat smoke, cured meat, coastal sea spray, dried fruit, and warming oak spice.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with raw oysters, smoked salmon, charred ribeye steak, sharp blue cheese, or dark chocolate with sea salt.

Tasting Notes: A rich and smoky island single malt featuring smoldering peat smoke, maritime brine, sweet dried fruit, cured meats, and gentle baking spices.

Nose: Robust peat smoke, tarry ropes, sea spray, cured bacon, sweet citrus oil, and dried fruits.

Palate: Full-bodied with notes of smoldering campfire ash, sweet peat, salted caramel, ripe plum, cracked black pepper, and toasted woodiness.

Finish: Long, warm, and lingering with persistent coastal smoke, subtle dark fruit sweetness, and dry oak spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of spring water to open up its complex smoky and coastal layers.
