About the Futures Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2020
Crafted in the esteemed Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2020 is the official second wine of Château Clerc Milon, a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Grand Cru Classé) owned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. Named after a traditional knightly dance ("Pastourelle") that mirrors the iconic dancing figures on the estate's label, this wine offers early accessibility, elegance, and charm while reflecting the classic Pauillac pedigree. Sourced from estate vineyards planted on gravelly crests over clay-limestone subsoils near the Gironde estuary, the 2020 vintage combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels (20% new) to achieve balance and refined texture.
Food Pairing: Grilled lamb chops, roast beef, braised duck breast, mushroom risotto, and aged semi-hard cheeses.

Aromas of dark berries, cigar wrapper, exotic spices and burning embers introduce the 2020 Clerc Milon, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered wine that's seamless, concentrated and refined, with lively acids and a long, saline, violet-inflected finish. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and the balance Petit Verdot, it's a terrific effort from this clay-limestone terroir that has benefited from so much investment in recent years.
