About the Futures Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2020
Crafted in the renowned Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2020 is the official second wine of Château Lagrange, a historic Third Growth (Troisième Grand Cru Classé). Created in 1983 from vines averaging 30 years of age, Les Fiefs de Lagrange is produced with the same meticulous care, high-density vineyard management, and precision as the Grand Vin. Sourced from the estate's sprawling gravel plateau over clay-limestone subsoils, the 2020 vintage features a higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon complemented by Merlot and Petit Verdot, aged for 12 to 14 months in fine French oak barrels (20% new).
Food Pairing: Roasted leg of lamb, grilled ribeye steak, duck breast with berry reduction, pork tenderloin, and aged semi-hard cheeses.
92 Points - James Suckling
Dark fruits with a spicy character and licorice, dark chocolate and black olives. Some wet earth, too. Medium-bodied, polished and textured with fine-grained tannins and a juicy fruit core underneath. Flavorful and attractive with a creamy finish. Drink or hold.
