Futures Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2020

Crafted in the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux, Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2020 is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest dry white wines. Owned and managed by Florence and Daniel Cathiard, the estate utilizes organic and biodynamic farming principles to express its unique Gunzian gravel and clay-limestone terroir. Hand-harvested with multiple selective passes, the grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barrels (50% new, crafted in the estate’s on-site cooperage) with regular bâtonnage on fine lees. The 2020 vintage combines immense aromatic concentration, opulent texture, and piercing mineral freshness.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared sea scallops, grilled lobster with herb butter, roasted turbot, veal chops in cream sauce, and aged goat cheese.

Suave and caressing in feel, this drapes beautifully, with creamed yellow apple, gooseberry and lemon curd notes on the flattering side, offset by hints of tarragon, blanched almond and salted butter on the racier side.
