Futures Chateau Gazin 2020

Crafted in the world-renowned Pomerol appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, Château Gazin 2020 is a benchmark estate located on the famed clay-gravel plateau, adjacent to legendary neighbors Château Pétrus and Château L'Évangile. Owned and operated by the de Bailliencourt dit Courcol family, Gazin benefits from a exceptional terroir composed of deep Gunzian gravel over a subsoil of blue and iron-rich clay (crasse de fer). Sourced from hand-harvested grapes subjected to rigorous double-sorting, the 2020 vintage combines a dominant share of Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Fermented in small thermo-regulated concrete vats and aged for 18 months in fine French oak barrels (50% new), it exemplifies Pomerol richness, aromatic complexity, and impressive aging capacity.

Food Pairing: Braised beef short ribs, roasted rack of lamb, venison tenderloin, roasted duck with cherry reduction, and truffle-infused dishes or aged cheeses.

Lovely texture to this Pomerol. Fine velvety tannins with plum, walnut and crushed stone character. Savory finish. Needs time to soften. Very classy and structured, yet so refined. 91.6% merlot and 8.4% cabernet sauvignon. Try after 2025.
