About the Futures Chateau du Glana 2020
Crafted in the famed Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, Château du Glana 2020 represents exceptional value and classic regional elegance. Situated on the gravelly soils between Margaux and Pauillac, the estate is owned by the Meffre family, who have continually elevated quality through vineyard modernization and precise winemaking techniques. Sourced from 40-year-old vines grown on deep Gunzian gravel, the 2020 vintage combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (40% new). The result is a vibrant, well-structured Saint-Julien offering classic dark fruit purity and immediate appeal along with cellaring potential.
Food Pairing: Grilled ribeye steak, roasted lamb shank, pork tenderloin, braised short ribs, and semi-hard cheeses.
91 Points - James Suckling
This shows notes of black and blue fruits, dark spices, cedar, walnut and some violets. Medium body. Firm and chewy with a juicy dark fruit backbone. Fine-grained and velvety texture with a lingering finish. Drink after 2024.
