About the Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Cherbaudes' 2023
Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Cherbaudes' 2023 is an exceptionally aromatic, silken, and refined red Burgundy sourced from old vines planted in 1940 directly adjacent to Mazis-Chambertin. Sourced from limestone-clay soils and crafted with Jean-Marie Fourrier's signature low-intervention technique (including cold soaking and aging in minimal new oak), it presents a glowing ruby color with complex perfumed scents of wild red cherries, pomegranate, dried rose petals, crushed stones, and peppery spice. On the palate, the wine delivers a medium-bodied, remarkably focused core of crunchy red fruits paired with fine-grained, chalky tannins, bright minerality, and an exceptionally long, fragrant finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs exquisitely with pan-roasted duck breast, roasted rack of lamb, seared squab, Boeuf Bourguignon, or aged Epoisses and Comté cheeses.
