About the Fossacolle Fosso Buio Sant'Antimo Rosso
Crafted by Azienda Agricola Fossacolle in the southern subregion of Montalcino, 'Fosso Buio' is a distinctive Tuscan red produced under the Sant'Antimo DOC appellation. Named after the dark ravine bordering the estate's vineyards, this cuvée combines Sangiovese with international varieties to create a rich, expressive profile. Aged in oak barrels, it yields complex aromas of ripe dark cherries, blackberries, leather, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle oak spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, well-structured, and smooth, offering fine tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, warm, savory finish.
Food Pairing: Serve at room temperature (16–18°C); pairs wonderfully with grilled red meats, braised beef stews, roasted pork tenderloin, pasta with meat ragù, and aged Tuscan Pecorino cheese.
