Forty Creek Unity Limited Edition 2018

Forty Creek Unity is a limited-edition Canadian whisky released in 2018 as Forty Creek’s 12th annual special release. Master Blender Bill Ashburn created the final blend with input from five Forty Creek fans. The whisky combines a Canadian whisky blend treated with high-mocha toasted American white oak staves, 10-year-old corn whisky, and a small amount of 15-year-old Portuguese-style Starboard fortified wine that had matured in previously used Forty Creek whisky barrels.

Food Pairing:Pairs well with roasted meats, barbecue, aged cheddar, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, caramel desserts and dried-fruit desserts.

Tasting Notes:A rich and full-bodied Canadian whisky with a creamy texture, combining caramel sweetness, dark fruit, toasted oak and warming spice.

Nose:Toasted caramel, honey, crème brûlée, toffee and dark fruit.

Palate:Toasted oak, caramel and vanilla with black coffee, dried fruit and warming peppery spice.

Finish:Very long and warming, with pronounced pepper spice gradually developing into lingering oak.

Serve:Best enjoyed neat, with a small amount of water or over a large ice cube.
