About the Forty Creek Niagara Triple Reserve
Forty Creek Niagara Triple Reserve is a limited-edition, small-batch Canadian whisky from Forty Creek Distillery in Ontario’s Niagara region. Released in 2025, it uses a triple-barrel maturation process: at least three years in oak, additional maturation in once-used bourbon barrels, and a four-month finish in Niagara Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks. It is bottled at cask strength at 51% ABV.
Food Pairing:Pairs well with grilled steak, roast beef, smoked meats, aged cheddar, dark chocolate, dried fruit, and desserts featuring raisins or dark berries.
Tasting Notes:A rich, fruit-driven Canadian whisky combining the influence of oak, bourbon barrels, and Niagara Cabernet Sauvignon casks, with berry, dried-fruit, tobacco, tannin, and spice characteristics.
Nose:Fresh berries and pine with underlying tobacco notes.
Palate:Raisin and prune with a pleasant tannic grip, accompanied by leather and white pepper.
Finish:A lingering combination of dried fruit, leather, tannin, and white-pepper spice.
Serve:Best enjoyed neat or with a small amount of water; a large ice cube can also be used according to preference.
