About the Forty Creek Chronology
Forty Creek Chronology is a limited-release Canadian blended whisky created by longtime Master Blender Bill Ashburn to commemorate the distillery’s history. It combines whiskies representing four decades of production: a 31-year-old barley malt originating from 1992, a 20-year-old corn whisky from the early 2000s, a 10-year-old rye from the 2010s, and a more recent corn whisky. It is bottled at 45% ABV.
Food Pairing:Pairs well with roast beef, grilled steak, aged cheddar, toasted nuts, bread pudding, caramel desserts and dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes:A layered Canadian whisky built around sweet corn, barley and rye, progressing from sweeter grain flavours into a spicier character.
Nose:Sweet corn and toffee followed by rye-bread notes.
Palate:An initial burst of sweet corn develops into pleasant barley flavours.
Finish:Warm and lingering, developing into rye spice.
Serve:Best enjoyed neat; ice can also be added according to preference.
