About the Fontanabianca Barbaresco 2017
The 2017 Fontanabianca Barbaresco is a classic and well-balanced expression of Nebbiolo from the Neive subzone. Despite being a warm vintage, this wine maintains a notable freshness and vibrancy. It offers enticing aromas of woodland berries, pressed rose petals, and eucalyptus, layered with hints of star anise, licorice, and baking spices. On the savory and juicy palate, it features a core of red cherry and mature Morello cherry supported by fine-grained, silky tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with a characteristic mineral edge. This wine is approachable in its youth but possesses the structure to age gracefully through 2027.
Wild aromas of dried meat and ripe berries with plum and smoke undertones. It’s full-bodied with ripe, chewy tannins and a long, very intense finish. Needs three or four years to soften, but impressive. Better after 2023.

You get silky but lasting tannins with polished fruit on the close. This wine gets better with each vintage I taste
