Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Pommard 1er Cru 'Les Rugiens' 2024 is a structured, noble, and deeply expressive red Burgundy produced from Pinot Noir vines grown in 'Les Rugiens', widely regarded as the finest Premier Cru vineyard in Pommard. Known for its distinct, iron-rich reddish soils, this terroir imparts remarkable power, dark fruit depth, and mineral complexity. Vinified with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels (around 30% new), the wine displays a dark ruby hue and opens with enticing aromas of ripe black cherry, wild blackberry, crushed granite, forest floor, and a hint of warm spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and muscular, offering a firm backbone of ripe, fine-grained tannins, vibrant natural acidity, and a long, structured finish.
