The First Editions Blair Athol 13 Year Old 2011 Sherry Butt #HL21212

The First Editions Blair Athol 13 Year Old is a limited single-cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Blair Athol Distillery in 2011 and bottled in 2024 by Hunter Laing’s The First Editions range. Matured for 13 years in a single Sherry butt, Cask #HL21212, it was bottled at its natural 59.6% ABV cask strength. The Sherry maturation complements Blair Athol’s rich, substantial malt character with dried fruits, caramel, dark chocolate and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Roast beef, glazed pork, mature cheddar, fruit cake, dark chocolate or roasted walnuts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and full-bodied with dried and dark fruits, caramelized sweetness, chocolate and warming spice supported by robust malt and mature oak.

Nose: Dried fruit and dark berries with caramel, malt, chocolate and sweet spice.

Palate: Rich Sherry fruit with raisins, toffee and dark chocolate accompanied by warming oak and baking spices.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, cocoa, malt and spicy oak.

Serve: Enjoy neat after allowing it time to open in the glass. At 59.6% ABV, adding a few drops of water can reveal more fruit, caramel and Sherry sweetness.
