Fielding Estate Winery Cabernet Franc

Crafted by winemaker Richie Roberts at the family-owned Fielding Estate Winery, this Cabernet Franc is a benchmark expression of the Niagara Peninsula's terroir. Sourced from low-yielding vines across three different Niagara vineyards, the grapes are harvested late in the season to ensure full phenolic maturity. The wine undergoes extended skin maceration and is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its natural intensity. It is characterized by expressive notes of black cherry, ripe plum, and black currant, complemented by savory undertones of black licorice and thyme. Recently, the 2023 vintage earned a prestigious Platinum Award at the 2025 National Wine Awards of Canada.
