About the Fattoria Le Pupille Poggio Argentato 2024
Fattoria Le Pupille Poggio Argentato 2024 is an elegant, vibrant, and mineral-driven white wine blend crafted by the esteemed estate Fattoria Le Pupille in the coastal Maremma region of Tuscany. Composed primarily of Sauvignon Blanc along with Petit Manseng, Traminer, and Sémillon, this cuvée offers expressive aromas of orange blossom, white peach, green apple, preserved lemon, and fresh Mediterranean herbs like sage and wild thyme. On the palate, it delivers a crisp, medium-bodied structure filled with citrus and stone fruit flavors, supported by lively acidity, a seashell mineral character, and a long, saline-tinged finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with grilled sea bass, seafood risotto, oysters, pesto pasta, goat cheese crostini, and fresh summer salads.
Food Pairing: Grilled seafood, shrimp pasta, roasted chicken, fresh salads, and goat cheese.
James Suckling
Lots of green apples and melon with some spiced pears. Medium-bodied with flinty and seashell mineral character, as well as some salt and fresh sage. Really spicy. 65% sauvignon and 25% petit marseng, the rest gewurztraminer and semillon.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Petit Manseng and 10% Sémillon and Traminer, the Fattoria Le Pupille 2024 Poggio Argentato shows plenty of what proprietor Elisabetta Geppetti calls “Mediterranean tension,” a balance she defines as warm-climate generosity paired with saltiness, freshness and brilliant linearity. Grown in the coastal Maremma, where sea breezes help preserve acidity, this pretty white blend offers exotic notes of jasmine and Sicilian zagara along with hints of citrus peel. It should offer modest aging potential thanks to the significant proportion of Petit Manseng and the natural acidity of the other varieties.
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The nose is savory and herbaceous, with aromas of preserved lemon, wild thyme, oregano, salt and pepper, while the palate brings more tart and sweet lemons and limes, herbs and salt, but also a gentler, alluring note of white flowers and clean laundry which lingers through the finish.
