Elk Cove Vineyards Mount Richmond Pinot Noir 2023 is a wild, richly structured, and commanding red wine sourced from high-density estate plantings in Oregon's Yamhill-Carlton district. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, it reveals complex aromatics of blackberry bramble, dark cherry compote, star anise, dusty baking spice, and damp forest floor. On the palate, it delivers a broad, forceful shape featuring dense flavors of berry pie, candied orange, oolong tea, and cedar box, supported by firm, sand-textured tannins and vibrant acidity that propel a long, savory finish.

Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with slow-braised lamb shoulder, roasted duck breast, pork tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, and aged semi-hard cheeses.

The 2023 Pinot Noir Mount Richmond comes from 14- to 20-year-old vines. Matured for 10 months in 26% new French oak, it has slowly unfurling aromas of red and black cherries and berries, aniseed, tobacco, tea leaves and earth. The full-bodied palate is powerfully styled with concentrated, earth-laced flavors and muscular, grainy tannins. It’s balanced by mouthwatering acidity and has a long, spicy finish. Rating:
