Elijah Craig Toasted Rye

Elijah Craig Toasted Rye is a premium release from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Starting with fully matured Elijah Craig Straight Rye, this expression is re-entered into custom-designed toasted new oak barrels created in partnership with Independent Stave Company. These secondary barrels feature a unique high-temperature toasting cap that embeds phenols into the wood, layering rich, dessert-like notes of crème brûlée, chocolate, and subtle smoke over the classic Kentucky rye spice backbone.

Food Pairing: Smoked beef brisket, pulled pork sliders, candied pecans, dark chocolate truffles, or a rich pecan pie.

Tasting Notes : Deep reddish-amber in appearance with a remarkably smooth, rich, and creamy mouthfeel.

Nose : Aromatic and sweet, leading with notes of toasted oak, crème brûlée, roasted almonds, hazelnuts, and a soft undertone of rye baking spice.

Palate : Rich, creamy, and dessert-forward, featuring waves of milk chocolate and subtle baking spices, perfectly balanced by the natural peppery spice of the rye grain and sweet wood tannins.

Finish : Soft, warm, and pleasantly long, with lingering notes of drawn-out baking spices, toasted oak, and a subtle, distinctive wisp of smoke.

Serve : Serve neat in a Glencairn glass, or poured over a large ice cube in a rocks glass.
