About the El Enemigo La Esperanza Bonarda 2022
El Enemigo La Esperanza Bonarda 2022 Sourced from an 80-year-old historic pergola-trained vineyard in the San Martín district, this profound single-vineyard expression of Bonarda presents a deep, saturated purple color. The nose unfurls an intense, fruit-driven bouquet of black cherries, ripe plums, and blackberries, seamlessly interwoven with notes of underbrush, violets, dark chocolate, and a hint of subtle woodsmoke. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, energetic, and remarkably fresh. It features a velvety texture framed by fine-grained, supple tannins and a bright vein of acidity, leading to a long, lifted, and savory finish enriched by sweet spice from aging 12 months in century-old French oak foudres.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, traditional Argentine asado, hearty pasta with tomato-based sauces, and aged cheeses like Manchego or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
95 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of blackberries, underbrush, violets and a hint of geraniums. The palate shows a focused, well-defined thread of fruit complemented by subtle savoriness. Sourced from San Martín in the east. Drink now.
