Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is an exceptionally elegant, terroir-driven Bordeaux-style blend sourced primarily from the eastern, volcanic-soil parcels of the iconic, biodynamically farmed Eisele Vineyard estate. In the challenging, low-yielding 2020 vintage—which resulted in the smallest harvest at the estate since the early 1990s—all fruit was meticulously selected and picked prior to autumn wildfires. Aged for 18 months in a combination of French oak barrels (90%) and Austrian foudres (10%), the wine displays a beautiful garnet-purple color. The nose is highly fragrant and expressive, revealing a floral bouquet of dried rose petals and potpourri intertwined with wild strawberries, red currants, and complex undertones of black tea, cinnamon, and volcanic earth. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, showing a round, silky texture. Its concentrated red and dark fruit flavors are tightly balanced by fine, chalky tannins and a vibrant, refreshing core of natural acidity that leads to a long, savory finish accented by aniseed and cocoa.
