Edradour 13 Year Old 2012 St. Michael-Eppan Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Matured

Edradour 13 Year Old St. Michael-Eppan Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine-driven Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled on 22 February 2012 and bottled on 27 June 2025. It was matured in first-fill Cabernet Sauvignon hogsheads from St. Michael-Eppan, the renowned winery in South Tyrol, Italy. Bottled at 48.2% ABV, this small-batch release combines Edradour’s rich malt character with dark berries, chocolate, red-wine tannins and warming spice. The batch comprises casks #703, #704 and #706, with an outturn of 1,093 bottles.

Food Pairing: Roast duck, braised beef, mature cheddar, dark chocolate, blackberry tart or roasted walnuts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and wine-driven with dark berries, chocolate and ripe plum alongside structured tannins, toasted oak and warming spice.

Nose: Blackcurrant and dark chocolate with ripe red fruit and a touch of cedarwood.

Palate: Ripe blackberry and plum with spiced oak, dark chocolate and a subtle espresso-like bitterness.

Finish: Long and structured with lingering red fruit, fine tannins and warming spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. A few drops of water can soften the wine-derived tannins and bring forward more of the dark-fruit character.
