Edradour 12 Year Old 2012 Bordeaux Wine Cask Matured Small Batch

Edradour 12 Year Old Bordeaux Wine Cask Matured Small Batch is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in July 2012 and bottled in March 2025. Rather than receiving a brief wine finish, the whisky was fully matured for 12 years in first-fill Bordeaux wine hogsheads, giving Edradour’s naturally weighty spirit a pronounced red-wine character. Bottled at 48.2% ABV, without added colouring or chill filtration, it combines dark berries, earthy spice, rich malt and structured oak.

Food Pairing: Roast duck, braised beef, mature cheddar, dark chocolate, berry tart or chocolate-covered cherries.

Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with dark berries, earthy notes and oily malt, supported by wine-derived tannins, oak and warming spice.

Nose: Blackberries and raspberries with dark fruit, gentle oak, floral touches and earthy spice.

Palate: Full and weighty with ripe berries, red-wine richness and oily malt, followed by clove, oak and subtle earthy notes.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dark fruit, drying wine tannins, oak and spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. A small splash of water can soften the tannins and bring forward more of the berry and malt character.
