Edradour 13 Year Old 2012 Sauternes Cask Matured Small Batch

Edradour 13 Year Old Sauternes Cask Matured Small Batch is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in April 2012 and bottled on 9 July 2025. Rather than receiving only a short wine-cask finish, the whisky was fully matured for 13 years in six first-fill Sauternes wine hogsheads. Bottled at 48.2% ABV, naturally coloured and non-chill filtered, the release produced just 1,983 bottles. The extended Sauternes maturation gives Edradour’s weighty malt character a rich dessert-like profile of honeyed fruit, buttery sweetness, dried fruit and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Crème brûlée, apricot tart, blue cheese, toasted almonds, lemon cake or buttery shortbread.

Tasting Notes: Rich and dessert-like, combining honeyed and dried fruits with buttery pastry, toffee, tropical fruit and warming oak spice.

Nose: Buttery pastry and fudge with syrupy dates, honeyed fruit and sweet Sauternes wine character.

Palate: Rich and syrupy with sticky toffee, plump sultanas, butterscotch and touches of tropical fruit.

Finish: Warming and increasingly dry with oak, peppery spice and lingering buttery toffee.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. A few drops of water can soften the richness and bring forward additional fruit and honeyed sweetness.
