About the Edradour 12 Year Old 2012 Sherry Cask Strength Batch #6
Edradour 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Strength Batch #6 is a richly matured Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2025. Matured for 12 years in a small batch of eight first-fill and second-fill Oloroso Sherry butts, it was bottled at its natural 59.5% ABV cask strength. The release yielded 5,131 bottles and showcases Edradour’s robust character through concentrated dried fruit, dark chocolate, toffee, spice and mature oak.
Food Pairing: Dark chocolate, fruit cake, roasted nuts, mature cheddar, sticky toffee pudding or slow-roasted beef.
Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and intensely Sherry-driven, with dried fruits, chocolate and rich malt complemented by toffee, warming spices and oak.
Nose: Raisins, figs and dark fruit with chocolate, orange peel, sweet malt and warming spice.
Palate: Rich and concentrated with Sherry-soaked fruit, toffee, dark chocolate and roasted nuts, followed by cinnamon and seasoned oak.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, spice and drying oak.
Serve: Enjoy neat after allowing it to rest in the glass. At 59.5% ABV, adding a small amount of water can open up the fruit, chocolate and spice.
