About the Duncan Taylor The Octave Glenrothes 13 Year Old 2012 Sherry Octave
Duncan Taylor The Octave Glenrothes 13 Year Old is a limited Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at The Glenrothes Distillery in 2012 and bottled by independent bottler Duncan Taylor in 2025. Aged for 13 years, the whisky received its final nine months of maturation in a specially selected Octave cask and was bottled at 53% ABV. The Sherry-influenced maturation complements Glenrothes’ rich Speyside character with ripe red fruit, honeyed sweetness, spice, tannic oak and subtle tobacco notes.
Food Pairing: Mature cheddar, roasted nuts, fruit cake, dark chocolate, glazed pork or desserts featuring honey and red berries.
Tasting Notes: Rich and warming with ripe red fruit, honeyed sweetness and spice balanced by fresh oak, gentle tannins and subtle tobacco character.
Nose: Delicate yet complex with sweet fruit, warming spice and gentle oak.
Palate: Chestnut honey and ripe red fruits with fresh wood, tannins and a subtle tobacco note.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering fruit, honeyed sweetness, spice and dry oak.
Serve: Enjoy neat first, then add a few drops of water to open the fruit, honey and spice character.
