Duncan Taylor Ben Nevis 11 Year Old 2012 Rum Cask Finish #RF-1722

Duncan Taylor Ben Nevis 11 Year Old is a limited single-cask Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Ben Nevis Distillery in November 2012 and bottled by independent bottler Duncan Taylor in November 2023. Aged for 11 years and finished in a rum cask, Cask #RF-1722, it was bottled at 53.4% ABV with a release of 286 bottles. The rum-cask influence complements Ben Nevis' robust malt character with additional fruit and sweetness, creating a profile of stone fruit, vanilla, butterscotch, sultanas, honeyed nuts and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Roasted pork, glazed ham, mature cheddar, buttery pastries, fruit cake, caramel desserts or roasted nuts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with creamy sweetness, vibrant malt, stone fruit and dried fruit balanced by toffee, nuts and warming spice.

Nose: Buttery pastry and creamy vanilla with juicy stone fruit and sweet butterscotch.

Palate: Vibrant malt with plump sultanas, honeyed nuts and poached stone fruit, followed by toffee and candied ginger.

Finish: Lingering biscuit-like malt, gentle spice and bright, zesty fruit.

Serve: Enjoy neat first, then add a few drops of water to open the fruit, vanilla and rum-cask sweetness.
