The 2012 growing season presented significant challenges for the Drappier family, with hail affecting nearly 70% of the village and frost damaging 20% of the La Grande Sendrée vineyard. As a result, production of the 2012 Brut Grande Sendrée was limited. The wine offers a delicate yet deep bouquet of pear, peach, orchard fruit, baked bread and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it is layered, structured and filled with tension while maintaining an ethereal elegance. Bright, racy acidity carries through to a long finish. Already highly enjoyable, it should continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade. A blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay.
