About the Double Canyon Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Impactful deep cherry aromas with hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and clove open your mind to the tasting experience to ensue. The first entry to the pallet is silky smooth, brimming with notes of ripe blackberry and tart currant, and finishes with toasted vanilla, oak, and baking spices. With approachable tannins, the finish is lengthy and subtle.
Pairs nicely with hearty meat dishes such as roasted lamb with grilled asparagus or for a meatless pairing try it with eggplant parmesan.
90 Points - James Suckling
Blackcurrant, tobacco and tar on the nose, with some spice box and coffee. It’s full-bodied, mouthfilling and chewy with ripe and broad tannins. Drink after 2025.
89 Points - Wine Enthusiast
An earthy-funky aroma offers a wild backdrop for notes of boysenberry and lilacs. Each sniff is a meadow walk after a downpour. Elevated acidity lends some juiciness to flavors like tart raspberry, anise and black tea with a slice of lemon. This would be a perfect pour with turkey burgers.
